John Paul II Theologian. Commentaries on the encyclicals
Edited by Graziano Borgonovo, Arturo Cattaneo
Among the various documents of papal teaching, encyclicals hold a special place. John Paul II wrote many of them, but what strikes us more than their number is the importance of the topics addressed. [...] The purpose of this book is to bring his extraordinary and profound teaching to a wide audience, while at the same time the authors do not abandon the requirements of theological integrity. The Pope's teaching is not limited to explaining complex and difficult theological problems, but also provides numerous impulses to awaken in every Christian a sense of life and mission.
excerpt from the book
John Paul II was a seeker of truth, its advocate and witness, especially where truth was threatened, falsified or forgotten. His teaching deepened and embraced truth in all its aspects. [...] Therefore, I gratefully acknowledge the initiative of the Center for the Thought of John Paul II to publish a Polish version of the book John Paul II Theologian. Commentaries on the encyclicals. [...] I express the hope that this publication will allow Polish readers not only to get to know the teaching of John Paul II, but also - based on it - to shape their Christian life.
