Exhibition catalog: Ten signs
Author: Dorota Lekka, Artur Wąsowski
Publication accompanying the exhibition TEN SIGNS organized at Mt 5,14 | Museum of John Paul II and Primate Wyszyński from October 22, 2022 to January 30, 2023.
"Ten Signs" is an authorial curatorial project related to the presentation not of previously created and selected works, but with the entire process of their planning, procurement, consultation, implementation, patronage, promotion and organization. The project positively verified the possibility of contemporary religious painting, which guarantees a high artistic level of works. As a result, a new form of creative expression was created, with simultaneous reference to tradition and the achievements of the heritage of European religious culture. Ten signs are ten miracles, ten different stories, ten encounters described in the Gospel according to St. Matthew. This is a symbolic story of ten heroes of timeless character, which has nowhere before been described in a separate monograph or illustrated in a series of pictorial representations.
