Willmann. Opus magnum
Author: collective
Willmann. Opus magnum is a publication in which we can find 40 texts dedicated to the work of Michael Willmann. Prominent physicians, artists, publicists, art restorers, directors or philologists share their experiences and thoughts, which were prompted by their contact with the art of the "Silesian Rembrandt." The catalog will also allow us to answer the questions: if and how does ancient art influence contemporary authorities? Are we able to understand the work of the Silesian Baroque painter? It is also impossible not to mention a place when writing about Michael Willmann, namely the Cistercian Friars' monastery in Lubiąż, where the artist was buried - against the rule - in a crypt intended only for Cistercian monks. Willmann. Opus magnum is also a praise of the artistry of painting, so a significant part of the publication is made up of excellent photographs of paintings.
