Pro Memoria, vol. III (1953-1956)
Author: Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński
The third volume of Pro memoria covers three years (September 25, 1953 - October 28, 1956). The years of the cardinal's imprisonment covered in this volume were significant for the continued life and ministry of the Primate of the Millennium and, as a reading of the text shows, important for the nation and the Catholic Church in post-World War II Poland. Both the prison Pro memoria of Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński and the texts written by him during his isolation show him as a man who, despite the evils that befell him and the Church, never for a moment stopped believing that God was leading him. The Primate's notes from the period of his arrest in their essential form were published in the book Prison Notes. Cardinal Wyszyński personally cooperated with the editors in preparing this item for publication.
